Sashikunja Educational Services LLP ("we", "us") operates Gurukul Veda and is the Data Fiduciary of personal data collected from users of the Service. We are committed to protecting your data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable Indian laws.
1. Data We Collect
- Account data: name, email, Google sign-in identifier.
- Learning profile: education board, class, school, city, state.
- Usage data: chat messages, quiz attempts, flashcard progress, streaks, uploaded images (Snap & Solve), voice transcripts.
- Payment data: processed by our PCI-DSS compliant payment partner; we do not store card details on our servers.
- Technical data: IP address, device/browser, cookies essential for session management.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To deliver, personalise and improve the Service.
- To generate AI tutor responses aligned to your board/class/syllabus.
- To send you service-related emails (sign-in, receipts, important updates). Marketing emails only with your opt-in.
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud and security incidents.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Legal Bases (DPDP Act)
We process personal data based on your consent, performance of contract (delivering paid subscription), and legitimate uses (security, fraud prevention) as permitted under Indian law.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with:
- AI providers (OpenAI/Google Gemini) strictly for generating tutor responses — messages are not used to train their public models under our enterprise terms.
- Payment gateway (e.g., Cashfree/Razorpay) for processing paid subscriptions.
- Cloud infrastructure (MongoDB, managed hosting) under strict data-processing agreements.
- Government authorities only when required by law or a valid legal request.
5. Children's Privacy
The Service is designed for learners of all ages including minors. Users below 18 must obtain verifiable parental consent. Parents can email gurukulveda2026@gmail.com at any time to request access, correction or deletion of their child's data.
6. Your Rights
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of your personal data.
- Correct, complete, or update inaccurate data.
- Erase your data (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights.
- Grievance redressal — contact our Grievance Officer (see below).

7. Data Security
We protect your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted-at-rest storage, role-based access controls, audit logs, and regular security reviews. However, no system is 100% secure — you share information at your own risk.
8. Data Retention
- Active account data is retained as long as you use the Service.
- After account deletion, we retain minimal billing / transaction records for up to 8 years to meet Indian tax and regulatory obligations.
- Chat history, uploads, and progress are permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
9. Cookies
We use only essential cookies needed for sign-in and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
10. International Transfers
Your data is primarily stored and processed in India. Some AI processing happens on servers located outside India under approved data-transfer safeguards.
